closet worldThe desk in your home should be both organized and functional. Closet World offers custom-made storage solutions and tips for getting the most out of your desk space.
The size of your desk should be big enough to be accommodating but not so large it invites clutter. Clean styles with no drawers and often with glass tops are a stylish choice, leaving you to find other ways to store home office items.
Besides the computer and monitor, keep only what you use daily on top of your desk. If you use a pen holder, control the clutter and make sure it’s stocked only with working pens and no duplicates. A small notepad should always be handy to help you avoid writing quick notes on places such as the backs of envelopes.
Keep a lamp on your desk for adequate lighting.
Since the desk is where you probably pay the bills, have a specific place to keep them orderly and organized.
If you have desk drawers, clean them out and only store items in them that you need to have close at hand, including your frequent-filing system. The space under the desk can also be used to store small filing boxes or cabinets.
For staplers, extra pens and pencils, tape dispensers, and other small office supplies, use a nice box on a nearby book shelf. Additional boxes could be used for receipts, the storage of small electronics, and accessories such as iPods and headphones.
Keep a bulletin board on the wall nearby for urgent items and upcoming events.
Find a spot for cleaning supplies so you can easily keep your desk and computer clean, and organize the wires behind your desk by grouping them with Velcro or running them through a dress sock with the toe cut out.
